Commercial Aircraft-Cabin Egress: The Current State of Simulation Model Development and the Need for Future Research
نویسنده
چکیده
There has been increasing interest in developing simulation models capable of analyzing commercial aircraft-cabin egress under both non-life-threatening and life-threatening scenarios. At issue is the ability to accurately simulate human behavior within non-toxic environments, as well as the debilitating effects that toxic environments (e.g., fire and smoke) have on human-decision making. A set of criteria has been identified by the Federal Aviation Administration for developing simulation models capable of analyzing commercial aircraft-cabin egress. These criteria are used to (a) compare the capabilities and limitations of four aircraft-evacuation models in existence today , (b) identify the issues that need to be addressed when developing these types of models, and (c) propose a new paradigm for developing aircraft-cabin egress models.

An analysis was conducted to examine the market visibility of small aircraft as a transportation mode in competition with automobile and scheduled commercial air travel by estimating the pool of users that would potentially switch on-demand air travel due to cost/time saving. These new aircraft greatly increase the practicality of regional aircraft as a transportation mode that can avoid the co...
متن کاملDesign and Experimental Analysis of Aircraft Air Distribution Systema
In this paper, the methodology of aircraft air distribution system has been analyzed theoretically and experimentally. To achieve that, ducting pressure loss and air flow throw gaspers calculations has been done for cabin ducts in according to exact location of individual air distribution system in the cabin. The length of gasper air flow was compared with the distance between gasper outlet and...
متن کاملA new simulation model for assessing aircraft emergency evacuation considering passenger physical characteristics
Conducting a real aircraft evacuation trial is oftentimes unaffordable as it is extremely expensive and may cause severe injury to participants. Simulation models as an alternative have been used to overcome the aforementioned issues in recent years. This paper proposes a new simulation model for emergency evacuation of civil aircraft. Its unique features and advantages over the existing models...

This paper deals with the study and comparison of passive and active landing gear system of the aircraft and dynamic responses due to runway irregularities while the aircraft is taxying. The dynamic load and vibration caused by the unevenness of runway will result in airframe fatigue, discomfort of passengers and the reduction of the pilot’s ability to control the aircraft. One of the objectiv...
